Pretty good name for an IPA with some French hoppage going on. Little did I know that this beer is a collaboration between the multi award-winning Saltaire brewery in Yorkshire and the ever entrepreneurial Dark Star brewery from down South on the South Downs. All in the aid of and in celebration of the Tour de France to Yorkshire.
The taste matches the geographical twist. it’s like an IPA, but it’s smoother and creamier. One to go ‘ohhh’. I liked this, and not just because it’s to do with cycling and I’ve never tasted anything bad from Saltaire. It drinks like a real treat and that’s exactly what it is.
One to start the night on, when your taste buds are still in tact and your stomach can take it. I reckon one or two of these would set you off on the right foot. Any more and you might start to drag your feet a bit later.
