I love a good beer and I try as many different beers as I can. Craft beers, independent beers, big brand beers, micro brewery beers, friends’ beers, festival beers and beer shop recommended beers.
Tried and tested brews have a place in my pint pot, but finding new favourites is what I enjoy most. Traveling around the UK and further afield when I can has helped me to find some proper locals – both in terms of the beer and the establishments.
I have strong tendencies towards tasty IPAs, wheat beers and some eastern European lager type brews. Saying that, I’ve enjoyed some mindbogglingly good stouts and dunkels. Some sours are a bit much, but I’m working on it.
As a secret scientist, I’m up for brewery tours and consulting the beer process dictionary, but mostly I just want to find really really good beer. I have all the beer charts at my fingertips but that’s just for fun – the reviews are all about the experience that only drinking brilliant craft ale can bring. Apart from cider, so I’ll stick a few of those in as well just because it’s a crime not to when in Somerset for similar.
